Patios And Walkways
There is nothing in the landscape that says "community" more than a brick walkway or patio. A walkway invites visitors to your door. A patio gives a place at your home for family and friends to gather in an outdoor setting. But if you live in Bedford or Hooksett, Londonderry or Manchester, Derry or Auburn, your New Hampshire home will benefit from having a patio or walkway installed by Giant Landscaping. When you have picked out the style and color of patio bricks you like, you can count on Giant Landscaping Company to install them right the first time.
Patios and walkways should be installed using accepted industry standard practices. Taking shortcuts on the base preparation (or any step along the way) can mean settling or sinking, and ultimately having to pull up the bricks and start over. A cheap price from a brick walkway installer could mean skipping PVC edge restraints, causing the new walkway edges to roll-or using stone dust as a base instead of the proper two-layer method of processed gravel and sand underneath the brick pavers.
If a brick walkway installer tells you he's always used stone dust and has never had a problem, check the references! Ask to see a job they have done that is several years old.
The sand used in between the brick paver's joints should be a polymer-based product designed specifically for that purpose. Polymer sand, after being wetted, dries hard like a grout, preventing weed growth and eliminating wash-out between the bricks. When the paver's surface becomes saturated, however, it softens to a gel consistency and allows for drainage through the pavers. Polymer sand is expensive, but not in the long run!
With all the colors and styles and patterns of brick pavers available today for walkways and patios, the time has never been better to have one installed at your house. Call us or send us an e-mail! We will come out and provide you with a free estimate and patio design ideas for your yard.
