Lawn installation before and after

A good lawn starts with a good base. A thick layer of topsoil is important to prevent a lawn from drying out too quickly, especially on a lot that has been filled with sand.

Giant Landscaping did a great job! My back yard looks FANTASTIC! They were courteous, always there when they were scheduled and very meticulous. Everyone who comes to my home comments on the great work done!!

The Best Lawn Installation Method

There are three methods we can use to create that dream lawn for you. Each one has advantages and disadvantages. The best lawn installation method is the one that works best for you!

At Giant Landscaping, we can install your new lawn in sod, hydroseed or broadcast spreading. The advantage in broadcast seeding is that the seed makes immediate contact with the soil and roots quickly in the loam. The disadvantage is proper soil preparation and light, frequent watering are essential for success in establishing a lawn from broadcast seed. Fall lawn installations are best for broadcast seeded lawns because weed seeds are not germinating.

The best chance of establishing a successful lawn is by starting with hydroseeding. Hydroseeding solves the main problem of a broadcast seed lawn: moisture retention. The wood fiber or paper mulch is loaded with fertilizer and ensures the lawn gets off to a fast start.

If you can’t wait three months for an established lawn, we can install sod for you. The cost is considerably higher than the other two options because of the labor involved.

Caring For Your New Lawn

Sign up for a Lawn Care service. We always encourage our new lawn customers to follow through with hiring a professional lawn care service for the following year after a lawn installation. Any new lawn in New Hampshire will battle weeds because all loam contains dormant weed seeds.

Spring lawns are especially susceptible to a healthy crop of weeds. There’s no doubt that crabgrass will become a nuisance the following spring. Accurate timing of lawn weed controls and regular fertilizer applications are critical steps to a successful new lawn installation. This is best left in the hands of a professional lawn care service.

Don’t know which lawn care service to call? Ask us - we can help you with that!

Water, water, water! The best insurance policy to guarantee a successful lawn – whether seed, sod, or hydroseed – is to have Giant Landscaping install a lawn irrigation system. Most homeowners have the best intentions to be diligent about manually watering their lawn – but the reality is, life happens. An automatic sprinkler system waters the lawn flawlessly day in and day out, so you never have to think about it.

The best time to plant a new lawn is when you are sick and tired of the old one! Give Giant Landscaping a call for a free consultation.
