We have a winner in the free patio contest we participated in with Frank 106.3 FM. Joyce Lobel won the contest and presented us with a challenge. The Lobels were wanting a small patio at their summer cabin on Pleasant Lake in Northwood where she and her husband could sit out by the water as the sun goes down. We went right to work, building and shoring up the fieldstone wall to the height it needed to be able to prepare the patio base.

Our crew worked hard, wheelbarrowing the gravel base from the front of the cottage, compacting it, then finally laying down the brick pavers and setting them into the sand base. We finished the job just as night began to fall. All in all, in was a fun little project and a challenge for our crew. I am reminded of how rewarding our work is- that for a little effort and sweat, we can build something that our customers will enjoy for years to come.

We found out about this organization through the realtor we purchased our landscape materials building in Manchester from. Neighbor Works provides home buying assistance services to individuals who may be hard working families, but for one reason or another are unable to purchase a home. Not only that, but they also provide a homeowner assistance program that helps existing homeowners manage their budgets and financials to prepare for the challenges of homeownership. Neighbor Works Greater Manchester also assists in upgrading low income housing neighborhoods to become better places to live. Our involvement this year with Neighbor Works is simply to help sell some tickets to their fund raising event this October. This is a great organization that helps homeowners in our community, and one that we will be looking at supporting in the future.

The animal shelter on Dunbarton Road provides a valuable service for those in our community who can't speak or fend for themselves. In some ways pets are more loyal than people, and yet totally dependent on us. The Dunbarton Road Animal Shelter in Manchester New Hampshire are unsung heroes to our four-legged friends. Growing up in Londonderry New Hampshire, we had great access to all kinds of sports. We played them when we could, when we weren't working that is.
